Provitalize review: what the label and the studies show

Provitalize is a probiotic and herb supplement from BB Company sold for menopause weight, bloating and joint comfort. Two capsules contain a 400 mg blend of three probiotic strains plus turmeric, moringa, curry leaf and BioPerine. Provitalize itself has no published clinical trials. A 2024 case report described fatal liver failure in a 49-year-old woman taking a menopausal supplement with the same listed ingredients.

Provitalize for menopause: expectation vs reality

What people often expect

“Provitalize melts menopause belly fat, and clinical studies prove it”

What the evidence shows

The studies on its product page tested one probiotic strain, Lactobacillus gasseri SBT2055, in fermented milk in Japanese adults, not Provitalize and not in menopause. In the first trial, 87 adults lost an average 4.6% of visceral belly fat over 12 weeks. Nobody has tested Provitalize itself, and turmeric boosted with black pepper extract has been linked to liver injury.

Provitalize review: ingredients, evidence and safety

What's in Provitalize

Per daily dose of 2 capsules, the label lists a 400 mg probiotic blend of Bifidobacterium breve IDCC-4401, Bifidobacterium animalis R101-8 and Lactobacillus gasseri, which the label puts at 68 billion CFU. Then come turmeric root extract 350 mg, moringa 350 mg, curry leaf 150 mg, lecithin 50 mg and BioPerine 3 mg, a black pepper extract. A bottle of 60 capsules lasts 30 days.

The studies Provitalize cites

The product page cites trials of Lactobacillus gasseri SBT2055. In the first, 87 Japanese adults with excess belly fat drank 200 g a day of fermented milk with or without the strain for 12 weeks; visceral fat fell by 4.6% and fat under the skin by 3.3% on the probiotic. A later study had 210 adults. Neither tested capsules, menopausal women, or the other Provitalize ingredients.

Turmeric for hot flashes: what the trials show

Two small trials found curcumin, the active part of turmeric, cut hot flashes. In 93 postmenopausal women, 500 mg of curcumin twice a day for 8 weeks reduced hot flashes more than placebo. In a 2026 pilot with 40 women, curcuminoids at 1,000 mg a day cut hot flashes by 7.35 more a week than placebo at week 12. Provitalize's 350 mg is turmeric root extract, and its curcumin content isn't stated.

Provitalize and the liver: the 2024 case report

A 2024 report in ACG Case Reports Journal describes a 49-year-old woman who took a menopausal supplement for about 30 days for hot flashes, bloating and weight gain. Its listed ingredients were the same as Provitalize's: B. breve, L. gasseri, B. lactis, turmeric, moringa, curry leaf, lecithin and black pepper extract. Her ALT reached 3,008 U/L, and she died before a liver transplant. The report doesn't name the brand.

Why turmeric with BioPerine is a liver question

BioPerine is piperine from black pepper. Provitalize's own page says it boosts curcumin absorption by up to 2,000%. The NIH's integrative health center (NCCIH) warns that highly bioavailable curcumin formulations may harm the liver, and that liver damage has been reported in some people taking them. The authors of the 2024 case report point to the same combination of turmeric and piperine.

Provitalize for menopause bloating

Provitalize is marketed for bloating, and its label promises that clothes may start fitting better. Probiotics are sold as dietary supplements, which don't need FDA approval before they go on sale, and evidence for them differs strain by strain. The Menopause Society's 2023 position statement doesn't recommend supplements for hot flashes. New, constant bloating after 40 also needs a doctor's check.

Moringa and curry leaf

Moringa and curry leaf together make up 500 mg of each daily dose, more than the turmeric. We found no clinical trials of either for menopause symptoms, weight or bloating. The 2024 case report notes that curry leaf hasn't been studied as a cause of liver injury, and calls for research on how turmeric, piperine, moringa and curry leaf might act together.

Provitalize price, subscription and guarantee

On the brand's site, one bottle, a 30-day supply, costs $53.00. Two cost $98.00, three $127.00 and six $254.00. Monthly autoship is offered at a 20% discount. The 90-day money-back guarantee applies only to one-time orders, not autoship, so if you want to test it with a refund option, buy a one-time bottle and don't subscribe. Set a reminder: the guarantee window closes after 90 days.

Before you buy Provitalize

  1. Buy one bottle as a one-time order if you want the 90-day money-back guarantee; autoship orders aren't covered.
  2. Don't stack it with another turmeric or curcumin supplement: highly bioavailable curcumin has been linked to liver damage.
  3. If you've had liver disease or take any regular medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist first; some herbs and medicines interact.
  4. Skip it in pregnancy or while breastfeeding; turmeric supplements may be unsafe in pregnancy.
  5. Measure your waist before you start and again at the end of the bottle, so you judge results, not reviews.

When to stop Provitalize and see a doctor

  • Urgent: Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, nausea or loss of appetite on Provitalize

Stop it and get liver blood tests the same day. These were the first signs in the 2024 case.

  • Urgent: Confusion, extreme drowsiness or a swollen belly with jaundice

Call 911 or go to the emergency room; these can be signs of liver failure.

  • Bloating that's new, constant or comes with feeling full quickly

See a doctor rather than treating it with supplements; it can be a sign of ovarian cancer.

  • Weight gain that worries you

Weight gain is common in perimenopause, but talk to a doctor before spending months on supplements.

Provitalize reviews: questions women ask

Does Provitalize really work?

There's no published trial of Provitalize, so nobody knows how well the product works. Its claims rest on studies of single ingredients: a probiotic strain tested in fermented milk in Japanese adults, and turmeric extracts tested at doses that may differ from what's in the capsule. Customer reviews can't separate the product's effect from diet changes and placebo.

Is Provitalize safe?

Serious harm appears rare, but there's a warning sign. A 2024 case report described fatal liver failure in a woman taking a menopausal supplement with the same listed ingredients, and NCCIH warns that highly bioavailable curcumin may harm the liver. If you take it, stop at the first sign of yellow skin, dark urine or nausea.

What are the side effects of Provitalize?

The label lists no specific side effects, only a caution to check with a health professional if you're pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or take medicine. In studies of probiotics in general, people had no more side effects than those on placebo. The serious risk to watch for is liver injury: jaundice, dark urine, nausea and loss of appetite.

How much does Provitalize cost?

On the brand's site, one bottle, a 30-day supply, is $53.00, and six bottles are $254.00. Autoship saves 20%, but the 90-day money-back guarantee covers only one-time orders, so subscribing gives up the refund option.

Can Provitalize help with menopause belly fat?

Not proven. The probiotic study it cites found a 4.6% drop in visceral fat in Japanese adults drinking fermented milk for 12 weeks, not in menopausal women taking capsules. Strength training, enough protein and sleep have better evidence for midlife belly fat.

Does Provitalize help with hot flashes?

It isn't sold mainly for hot flashes, and it hasn't been tested for them. Small trials found curcumin reduced hot flashes at 500 mg twice a day or 1,000 mg a day, but Provitalize doesn't state its curcumin content. The Menopause Society doesn't recommend supplements for hot flashes.

Is Provitalize FDA approved?

No. Provitalize is a dietary supplement, and supplements don't need FDA approval before they're sold. The maker is responsible for its safety and labeling, and the label itself says its statements haven't been evaluated by the FDA.

How long does Provitalize take to work?

The brand describes results over the first 60 to 90 days. Its money-back guarantee lasts 90 days on one-time orders, so that's the natural test window. Track your waist and symptoms from day one so you can judge the change yourself.

Provitalize vs Hormone Harmony: which is better?

Neither has been tested in a published trial. Provitalize is a probiotic and turmeric blend aimed at weight and bloating; Hormone Harmony is a blend of herbs such as ashwagandha, chaste tree and maca aimed at mood and hormones. Compare the ingredients and safety notes in both reviews.
