Eight Sleep review: is the Pod 6 worth it for night sweats?
This Eight Sleep review covers the Pod 6: a thin Cover over your mattress, connected to a bedside Hub, cools or heats each side of the bed from 55°F to 110°F. It costs $2,899 and is sold with an Autopilot plan at $199, $299 or $399 a year, which runs its automatic temperature changes and lists hot flash mitigation among its features. We found no published menopause trials.
Eight Sleep Pod 6 cools each side of the bed from 55°F to 110°F for $2,899, plus Autopilot at $199 to $399 a year. What it does for menopause night sweats and what it really costs.
Eight Sleep for night sweats: expectation vs reality
What people often expect
“Eight Sleep's hot flash feature will stop my night sweats”
What the evidence shows
Eight Sleep lists hot flash mitigation as an Autopilot feature, but we couldn't find published details or trial results for it. The Pod can keep your side of the bed cold, which may make sweats easier to sleep through; it doesn't change the hot flashes behind them.
Eight Sleep review: how the Pod 6 works, Autopilot and cost
How the Eight Sleep Pod 6 works
The Pod has two main parts. The Cover, about an inch thick, goes over your existing mattress like a fitted sheet and carries water that cools or heats each side. The Hub, which holds the water system, sits under the bed or by the nightstand. Sensors in the Cover track sleep and health data, and the Pod can wake you with vibration and warmth instead of a sound alarm.
Eight Sleep for night sweats and hot flashes
Each side can be set from 55°F to 110°F, so one partner can sleep cold while the other stays warm. Autopilot's dynamic temperature adjusts the setting through the night, and Eight Sleep lists hot flash mitigation among the extra Autopilot features. We couldn't find published details of how that feature works or any trial in menopausal women, so treat it as a promising but untested extra.
Eight Sleep price and Autopilot cost
The Pod 6 costs $2,899 (checked October 2026). Autopilot comes in three tiers: Standard at $199 a year, Enhanced at $299 and Elite at $399, or $17, $25 and $33 a month. With Enhanced, the checkout total is $3,198. Eight Sleep offers financing over 36 months with Affirm and lists HSA and FSA as payment options. Two years of the Enhanced plan cost more than a BedJet.
What Eight Sleep Autopilot includes
All three Autopilot plans include dynamic temperature, vibration and thermal alarms, sleep and health tracking, snore detection and mitigation, and maintenance inserts. The warranty depends on the plan: 2 years with Standard and 5 years with Enhanced or Elite. Elite adds Health Check, which monitors heart and breathing patterns. Eight Sleep's own FAQ is headed 'Why does the Pod need Autopilot?'.
Eight Sleep add-ons: Blanket, Pillow Cover and Base
Three add-ons extend the Pod. The Blanket connects to the Cover's water cord and, Eight Sleep says, doubles cooling and heating power for full-body climate control. The Pillow Cover adds cooling to any standard or king pillow but needs its own Hub. The Base slides under the mattress to raise your head, and Eight Sleep says it reduces snoring by up to 45%.
Eight Sleep for couples
One Pod covers both sides of the bed, and each side gets its own temperature, so a partner without night sweats isn't stuck in a cold bed. Chilipad, by contrast, is priced per side, and BedJet needs its Dual Zone system for separate temperatures. If you sleep alone, Eight Sleep also sells a Solo cover for one sleeper.
Eight Sleep alternatives: Chilipad and BedJet
BedJet is the cheapest at $498 and dries sweat with airflow, but it can't cool far below room temperature. Chilipad 2.0 also uses water, cools to 55°F and has no subscription, from $1,599 per side. Eight Sleep costs the most once Autopilot is added, but covers both sides and adds sleep tracking. None of the three has published trials in menopausal women.
